Serving People Where They Are
Faith-Based, In-Home & Facility-Based Services
For well over 15 years, Dr. Michael Francis, Ph.D., has provided counseling and personal guidance to individuals and families whose circumstances make traditional office-based services difficult or inaccessible. His work has included serving people who may hesitate to seek counseling because of their public visibility or concerns about privacy, as well as those whose health, mobility, transportation limitations, or personal circumstances prevent them from attending regular office appointments.
Dr. Francis believes that every client deserves the same level of respect, discretion, and individualized attention, regardless of their profession, financial circumstances, or position in the community. Whether working with someone in Hollywood or someone who earns a living in the fields, his commitment remains the same: to listen without judgment, understand the individual’s circumstances, and provide practical guidance in an environment where the client feels comfortable and respected.
With the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Francis expanded the mobility of his services to help individuals and families maintain access to counseling and personal support during a period of unprecedented isolation, uncertainty, and disruption. His longstanding commitment to meeting clients outside the traditional office setting became especially important for older adults, individuals with health or transportation limitations, and those whose circumstances made conventional appointments impractical.
Today, Dr. Francis continues to provide private counseling and personal guidance in clients’ homes, nursing homes, retirement communities, medical facilities, and other residential care settings, subject to facility policies and individual circumstances. These arrangements are particularly valuable for individuals who may benefit from consistent personal interaction but find it difficult to travel, as well as families seeking additional support for loved ones living in residential care.
As a Board Certified Christian Counselor, Dr. Francis also maintains longstanding relationships with churches and other religious institutions. Whenever practical, he prefers to provide faith-based counseling within a client’s own religious community, allowing familiar surroundings, personal beliefs, and existing sources of spiritual support to remain part of the counseling experience. When a religious institution cannot accommodate appointments for its parishioners or members of the surrounding community, services may be arranged at one of Dr. Francis’s offices or another appropriate location.
In addition to counseling, Dr. Francis provides in-home environmental consultations throughout Riverside County. These consultations help individuals and families recognize potential household concerns involving indoor air and water quality, moisture and possible mold, ventilation, lighting, noise, and general household safety. He offers practical recommendations for improving comfort and reducing potential hazards, while referring matters requiring specialized testing, technical inspection, or corrective work to appropriately qualified professionals.
Whether meeting with a client in a private office, visiting an older adult in a retirement community, providing faith-based counseling at a religious institution, or supporting a family in their own home, Dr. Francis approaches each engagement with the same commitment to personal dignity, confidentiality, and individualized care. His objective is to make meaningful counseling and guidance accessible to people whose needs, responsibilities, or circumstances might otherwise prevent them from seeking support.
